Herring brought his latest project to perform at the Lincoln Theatre

The group features Jimmy Herring along with bassist Kevin Scott, drummer Darren Stanley, keyboardist Matt Slocum and vocalist and guitarist Rick Lollar. I stood in line over an hour waiting to get into the packed Lincoln Theater in Raleigh, North Carolina not far from where Jimmy Herring grew up. As I waited for the doors to open, I met some of Jimmy's high school friends from Fayetteville and they said they knew back then he was some kind of guitar genius.

The 34th annual edition of Farm Aid was held at the historic Alpine Valley Music Theater in E. Troy Wisconsin on Saturday, Sep.21st.

Assembled artists for the event were the usual cast of: Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, and Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds. Also appearing on the bill were a venerable who's who of Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Tanya Tucker, Bonnie Raitt, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats, Jamey Johnson, Margo Price, and country music superstar Luke Combs.

The Big What? - August 8-10 in North Carolina

The Big What? was the 8th annual throwdown, revved up, twist yourself sideways summertime dreamtime festival conceived and executed by North Carolina's hometown heroes BIG Something. The Big Where? was the vast expanse of the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center - 75 acres of shady woods and rolling fields in the central Carolina countryside, roomy enough for multiple stages yet cozy enough to call home. The Big When? was three days of perfect sunny weather in early August with a radar reading royally relieved of rain.

The 19th annual FloydFest took place on the last week in July in the gorgeous rolling high country hills of southwest Virginia. Blue skies and a shining sun greeted the first ever totally sold out FloydFest with perfect summer weather and not a raindrop in sight. With a theme of "Voyage Home", there was something for everyone as over 80 acts converged on 8 stages in a wild variety of styles and flavors.

It's always something special when a Beatle comes to town! Ringo Starr drummed and danced his way through Durham's Performing Arts Center to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his renowned All-Starr Band. A tidal wave of applause and good cheer washed over the theater as Ringo took the stage flashing his trademark peace sign and a giant grin. The seven-piece masterclass tore through over two hours of massive hits from their own catalogs, Ringo's '70s smashes, and of course plenty of Liverpudlian delights.
