Today the band announces a month-long tour of Europe and a new live video of "Straight to Hell"
It's a big day forThe Trongone Band from Richmond, VA. Their debut album has been pressed on vinyl and hits store shelves today. They have a hot new live video for "Straight to Hell" (with several cameos by Sarah Shook). AND today their first European tour dates have just been announced! Our Harmonized Records label is proud to support these hard working artists. Check out the video below and give the whole album a listen here. Then check out the tour dates below to find out where you can experience the power of their live shows.
Speaking on the video, Johnny Trongone says, "Straight to Hell is one of my fav songs to play, always fun to rip that drum intro & typically by that point in the set, everyone's sweaty & things are gettin' wild! We brought a film crew to a few of our shows including our sold out 4th of July show on a rooftop in Richmond, VA, complete with fireworks display. We'd been touring with our good friend Sarah Shook of Sarah Shook & The Disarmers who ends up making it on camera. We love Sarah. She's become one of our best friends. We try & link up any chance we get if we're in about a 120 mile radius. We'll hang out, play music, share road stories & of course, party our asses off. We always have a blast. Glad she made an appearance in the video & stoked for our Fall tour together! Look out Midwest!

Big Something's annual throw down for their friends and family never disappoints everyone who is lucky enough to attend
Relentless! That was the special word for the 7th annual Big What festival, held amidst the bountiful green expanses of the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center outside of Pittsboro, NC. It felt like an entire festival of high-energy late night acts - each band an anthem, a steamroller of strength and spirit. Combine the sublime location and inspirational music with the lovely people attracted to such things, and all the ingredients were in place for a perfect weekend of hot fun in the summertime.
The Mantras rocked the phans hard after Phish played the Creek.
The Mantras played and epic Phish after-show on Friday night at The Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, NC. They did a tribute to The Beastie Boys interspersed with several original tunes.
Up on the Blue Ridge Mountains, there I'll take my stand. Lord, I've been all around this world.
I've been to a lot of music festivals, including Bonnaroo, Lockn,' New Orleans Jazz & Heritage, Lollapalooza and Outside Lands. I've seen incredible music at all of those, and I usually have a good time, but there's always a downside: bang-your-head-on-steering-wheel traffic bottlenecks, $15 Bud Lights, lukewarm fast food, overzealous police, hard drugs, loudmouth-drunk broheems, wookies, inadequate port-a-potties, litter, extreme heat and torrential downpours.
John Ferrara (Consider The Source) teamed up with Seth Moutal for a side project of music he had been working on, that was not CTS material. John had been playing around with looping pedals and bass lines, and thought it would be awesome to find a drummer to play a side project together with. While in Nyack NY at an open mic night, he first saw Seth ripping a drum solo, and killing it. He reached out to Seth a little later, to show him his songs. At their first rehearsal, they kept throwing ideas around, and it went well.
The Tedeschi Trucks Band charged forward like a jam-packed freight train at full speed, 12 wheels perfectly aligned and lubricated, all loyal to the shared destination of love, redemption and togetherness.
Long before Derek Trucks was born, Robert Johnson used a bottleneck slide to fight the hellhounds on his Mississippi Delta trail. Bessie Smith busked for pennies outside gospel churches on the streets of Chattanooga. John Coltrane emerged like a phoenix from rural North Carolina to the divine heights of "A Love Supreme." Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Bill Monroe, Aretha Franklin, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley.
The Freeway Revival burst out of Asheville with their debut album in 2016 with a funky and soulful roots rock sound that quickly won them a devoted fanbase.
Mountain Music Festival WV May 31- June 2, 2018 The time for a perfect vacation at Mountain Music Festival WV in Oak Hill was upon us again.
The only music festival boasting amazing adventure excursions and epic music, hand in hand with gorgeous camping alongside our kindred enthusiasts. From river rafting to ziplining paintball, disc golfing, or traversing Ace Adventure Resort's 1,500 acres by mountain bike, this music festival has it all. Not to mention The Lost Paddle bar next to their restaurant, adjacent the lake, full of Summer fun! Zipline, slides, inflatable equipment, blob, or just lounge on the beach and take a swim, Ace is a wondrous oasis for music and a quest for exploration.
The temperature keeps risin,’ everybody gettin' high. Come the rockin' stroke of midnight, the whole place gonna fly! Hey, Saturday Night! Yeah, uh huh, one more Saturday night!
When I arrived at Raleigh's Walnut Creek Amphitheatre on Saturday to see Dead & Company, it was a typical June day in North Carolina, which means it was insanely hot and humid, and you better apply sunscreen and stay hydrated or you'll fry like okra at the K&W. The handful of trees in the parking lot became prime real estate, and the hydration of choice at Shakedown Street was, big surprise, ice cold beer.
