Perpetual Groove announces the "Serious Business Tour"

It's time to get serious and down to business! After a light summer, Perpetual Groove [PG] returns to the road full-time in September. Summer '07 saw the band take their first extended vacation in over six years, performing just a hand-full of shows and festivals in and around the Southeast. With the fall season quickly approaching, the members of Perpetual Groove are gearing up for another long stint on the road.

Initial tour dates include stops in the Southeast, Midwest and a return to the Northeast, with more dates being announced in the coming weeks. In October the band continues their tradition of TAKING OVER the Variety Playhouse on Halloween after performing at Georgia's newest festival, The Echo Project. In December Perpetual Groove will step away from their conventional ways as they move New Year's Eve to Charlotte, NC for two nights at The Neighborhood Theatre.Tickets for NYE are on sale now, but look for an announcement from the Neighborhood Theatre for special lodging and transportation packages for each night.

The Serious Business Tour is powered by the Green Mountain Energy Company and will leave a positive impact on our environment. All emissions will be offset with renewable energy credits through our partnership with Sustainable Waves and Eco-Tunes. This includes all the travel, lodging and electricity expended by the venues at Perpetual Groove concerts.

For the first time ever we're offering fans a way to "green-up" their ticket through PGroove Netix, the band's own online ticketing service. For an additional two dollars, you may purchase your own renewable energy credit to offset the emissions created by traveling to and from Perpetual Groove performances. And of course, for every ticket purchased through our website, one tree will be planted. We strongly encourage our fans to take advantage of this opportunity and commit themselves to bettering our environment. No more monkeying around!

Tour kicks off with performances in Atlanta and Nashville and kicks into full gear by the second week of September. Presented by the Friends of the Georgia Theatre, Perpetual Groove will be staging a two-night hometown stand. Proceeds from the shows will benefit the continued restoration of the Theatre and Nucci's Space, Athens' non-profit health and resource center for musicians. Show your support for our wonderful community by joining Perpetual Groove for two nights at our home venue. On Saturday, Sep. 8 the band returns to The Music Farm in Charleston and then heads up the coast for a special outdoor performance in Wilmington, NC. After a series of concentrated shows in the Southeast, PG hits the road for a handful of performances in the Midwest. From there, it's off to the Northeast where Perpetual Groove will take a bite from the Big Apple at the Grammercy Theatre along with a night in Troy, NY at Revolution Hall. Some people call The Stone Church the "Joint" of the Northeast, but we call it a darn good time. Don't miss this chance to see the band in this intimate, energetic environment. PG is scheduled to return to the Southeast for Halloween and a brief tour before taking a few days off with loved ones for Thanksgiving. In December, after a trip to Texas, PG escapes to the Sunshine State and will begin to prep their New Year's Eve Extravaganza.

Looking forward to 2008, Perpetual Groove will board the latest installment of Jam Cruise. The big news, however, comes in February as the band returns to California - bringing with them, the first official live PG album, which is tentatively set for release on February 19th. Don't forget, the highlight of the spring... JAM IN THE DAM! That's right, you'll have the opportunity to follow the band across the Atlantic to Europe as they join Umphrey's Mcgee, The Disco Biscuits, Dark Star Orchestra, Tea Leaf Green and Lotus for their first ever performances in Amsterdam at the legendary Melkweg. Tickets are still available for Jam in the Dam, but moving fast, so don't wait any longer!
