Greensky Bluegrass Announces New Year's Eve, Rings in 2014 in Grand Rapids
Michigan Newgrass Quintet Currently Embarking on 42 Date Coast to Coast Tour with Stops at Austin City Limits, Hangtown Halloween Ball & The Fillmore
Kalamazoo’s Greensky Bluegrass announce today their plans to ring in 2014 with a New Year’s Eve performance at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The NYE celebration will mark an exclamation to a banner year that was bookended by two international festival performances, with Jam Cruise in January and Strings & Sol in December. Another Mitten State band, The Crane Wives, offer support on December 31. For fans joining in the festivities from out of town, Greensky will soon be announcing a special hotel deal early next week, with the lodging located within one mile of the venue. Greensky Bluegrass is currently in the midst of an expansive Fall Tour covering 42 dates following a summer that saw their debut at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Highlights include their debut at the Austin City Limits Festival, New York City's Bowery Ballroom, Boston's Royale, a triumphant return to SF's Fillmore Auditorium, Halloween at Seattle's Neptune Theater, two night stands at Portland's Wonder Ballroom, Denver's Gothic Theatre and much more. Earlier this year the Michigan quintet took some time between tours to record their recently-named fifth studio album, If Sorrows Swim, the much anticipated follow up to 2011’s critically acclaimed Handguns.
