The Pennsylvania venue announces its 2009 event schedule.

People are you ready to embrace the powers of live music in its finest form. The Church of Universal Love and Music (CULM) is back, with a summer lineup intended to reach the outermost realms of the music world. Located in the mountainous woods of Southwestern Pennsylvania, this 200 acre natural amphitheater setting is a venue motivated on creating an atmosphere where live music can be appreciated to its fullest extent, by creating an environment that is stress free for those who come so that the music is always the primary focus; and whatever energy that music is able to create will be the fuel for the vibrations of everyone.

In order to accomplish this mission we offer a slightly different setup as seen at most other festival grounds. Specifically, we allow every band performing to have enough time to allow their music to fully develop; each band gets to perform for an entire 2-3 hrs, thus it is a complete performance as if you saw them doing their own show on tour. So, once the band finds their groove they will be able to take it to the limits. Also, their is only one stage; this prevents overlapping artists, the stage is permanent and positioned in a natural setting for music, there is a massive white rainbow shaped dome that prevents weather from disrupting the music, as well as protecting the sandy dance area in front of the 60 foot stage from the elements.

Past performers have included: Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, the Derek Trucks Band, the Wailers, Victor Wooten, Sam Bush, Melvin Seals, Rob Wasserman, Vince Welnick, David Nelson, Donna the Buffalo, George Clinton, DJ Logic, Lotus, Brothers Past, Tea Leaf Green,The Recipe and many many others.

CULM offers a $200 season pass that includes attendance to the 21 days of music, as well as access to the campgrounds throughout the summer. With the season pass, music and camping is less than $10 per night, a great value for the tough economic times. The venue is located just 20 miles from the Youghiogheny River and Ohio Pyle, which offers white-water rafting and many other various outdoor activities. The venue is located 10 miles from the PA turnpike, so it is also a great place to visit while traveling by for other adventures.

The PA Potluck, May 15-17, will feature local legends Rusted Root, Donna the Buffalo, Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon featuring Papa Mali and others, Hypnotic Clambake, as well as our good friends from Michigan - Rootstand, and many other great artists. Late-night bonfire stage with Vince Herman and Rootstand! Tickets are $80 in advance and $100 ATD

Upcoming fourth album and tour announced.

225895019_BbufG-MSeptember 1st, SeepeopleS will unveil their 4th studio album, Apocalypse Cow Vol. 2.  In keeping with their philosophy and the times, SeepeopleS is offering their own financial bailout, by giving the entire album away for FREE! The album will be available for download at the band's  site, www.seepeoples.com midnight September 1, 2009.  The band is releasing a 15 track "hard cover" version on January 1st, 2010 in honor of the band's 10 year anniversary. Starting this June and throughout the summer, the new songs will be previewed at myspace.com/seepeoples.  These songs represent a return to the "electronic" roots of SeepeoleS, and a return to the sound that made their second album, The Corn Syrup Conspiracy, an underground classic.

In other SeepeopleS news, SeepeopleS is happy to announce that Matt McDonald, formerly of Perpetual Groove, is joining the band as the full time keyboard player.  McDonald has played a handful of shows with SeepeopleS as well as playing with Bradford's other band, the electronic big beat act, Freepeoples Frequency.  Matt is joining the band as a permanent part of the renewed sound that made SeepeopleS what it is today.  Former keyboardist, Peter Keys left the band at the beginning of 2009 to begin touring in Lynyrd Skynrd, filling the shoes of the late Billy Powell.   Matt McDonald talks about joining the SeepeopleS on his blog at www.mysubversivemedia.com. The band begins their touring season with a few select appearances, including a headlining slot at Awesometown Music Festival in Morrisville, PA.  The festival takes place May 8-10. For more info, please visit www.awesometownfest.com.

Other dates include the Comagun Music Summer Soulstice Festival (June 19, 20) in Asheville, NC and the Winston-Salem, NC Downtown After Five on June 25 with the Mantras.  The official Apocalypse Cow Vol. 2 Tour starts September 10 and will include dates throughout the US including the West Coast for fans west of the Mississippi. Visit  www.seepeoples.com for the full schedule of dates being secured and announced in the coming months.

HGMN Party with The Malah & Mantras - 3/28/09

The Malah & The Mantras perform at the HGMN party in Mebane, NC.

By: Chris Robie

It all started with the interview. The Malah was going to come to my house for a casual sit down and discuss what they've been up to. Then we came up with the idea of them doing an evening set in my living room and turning it into a private party. An interview followed by a performance at my house sounded pretty cool. Of Course my neighbors were going to complain about the loud music again but this time it wasn't going to be because we were playing Rock Band.

Three Legged Fox - Not As Far CD

On the strength of their latest release, “Not as Far,” Three Legged Fox has poised themselves for wider national recognition with this mature, inspired collection of tracks.
In its sixth year, Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival have made the move to beautiful Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Arkansas.

About Gathering of the Vibes
Gathering of the Vibes began in 1996 as a celebration of the life of Jerry Garcia, who passed away the previous summer.  Initially named Deadhead Heaven, the festival provides an annual forum for fans from across the country to remember the counterculture icon.  In each of its past 13 years, Gathering of the Vibes has paired legendary artists with emerging acts to appeal to a wide cross-section of live music fans. For details, www.GatheringoftheVibes.com <http://www.GatheringoftheVibes.com> .

Gathering of the Vibes and Charitable Giving

Since its inception, Gathering of the Vibes and its fans have made "giving back" a priority and support numerous social causes. In 2007 and 2008 combined, festival organizers donated more than $75,000 to local Bridgeport charities, Connecticut Special Olympics and many other not-for-profit organizations. In 2008, festival attendees donated 2,500 pounds of non-perishable items to local and state food banks. The festival's bold "GreenVibes" environmental initiative ranges from an aggressive on-site recycling campaign, to educating fans about current research and development being done, and the progress being made in the field of alternative energy solutions.
