Wade In The Water - Live 10/16/05 (2 CDs)
$20.00
On August 29th, 2005, a storm inundated the gulf coast. Katrina devastated New Orleans and its musical community. A piece of our musical soul was lost. On October 16th, 2005, Bill Summers assembled a group of musicians displaced by the storm to help find and reclaim that lost soul by bringing the musical gift and vibe of New Orleans to Pasadena, CA (and, with these CDs, to the rest of the world). Bill called in an all-star band (Kindler Carto on Drums; Mark Brooks on Bass; Emanulle Burke, Leon Brown, Clarence Johnson) to back up Donald Harrison, the legendary Big Chief Bo Dollis and the Wild Magnolias, and Bill Summers himself. Big Chief Bo Dollis brought on the deep New Orleans Funk with "Bye Bye Baby" and "Party." Bill Summers' set retraces the musical journey from ancient Africa to modern-day American sounds and is book-ended by two Herbie Hancock and Headhunters's classics, "Watermelon Man" and "Chameleon." The guys brought the party that is New Orleans to Pasadena and this 32-track [multi] recording brings that party to our ears, our hearts and our souls. Please help support New Orleans and its musicians by purchasing this amazing album.
