John Ginty Band - Fireside Live (2 CDs)

$15.00
For his first solo venture, John Ginty (Robert Randolph, Blind Boys of Alabama, Citizen Cope) has gathered a group of amazing musicians to accompany his Hammond B-3 organ - bassist Mike Buckman, percussionist Dave Hedden, drummer John Hummel, guitarist Tommy Feehan, and vocalist Paul Gerdts. Special guests on the album include JT Thomas (Jemimah Puddleduck, Bruce Hornsby), Mark Karan (Jemimah Puddleduck, Bob Weir & RatDog) and Chuck Wood (Ghandharva).

Fireside Live features 9 original songs as well as a very convincing cover of Santana's "Savor," the blues classic "Done Somebody Wrong," and "Gospel Jam" - an eclectic jam of traditional spiritual songs including "When The Saints Go Marching In" and "I'll Fly Away." The Ginty Band wear many different musical hats during this live performance and change them effortlessly - from the Latin rhythm-influenced jam "Departures," to the beautiful, spiritually uplifting ballad "Life Alone," to the airtight soulful rocker "Arizona."

Besides winning 2 Grammy Awards (one with Robert Randolph And The Family Band and one with Blind Boys Of Alabama), John Ginty has worked with an incredible cross-section of musicians in his 12-year career - Santana, Bad Religion, Jewel, Citizen Cope, Matthew Sweet, and Sheryl Crow to name a few.
