A Seattle bred composer and woodwinder, Jessica Lurie performs and records worldwide with The Living Daylights Trio and The Billy Tipton Memorial Saxophone Quartet , and collaborates with local and national artists such as Ellen Fullman, Amy Denio, The Indigo Girls, The Shakin' Ray Levis Society, Eyvind Kang, and Wayne Horvitz. In addition to composing for dance, film, and multi-media performances, her musical experience includes work with Booker T. Jones, The Posies, and Sleater Kinney. Lurie has recieved grants in composition, to teach workshops in improvisation, and to participate in collaborative musical and multi-media events. She co-founded the Seattle Tonehole Music Festival with radio genius Eric Boyer. Together, during the years of 1998 and 1999 , they were able to feature over 40 Northwest Artists in original, "new jazz" festival setting.

Self-released in July 2000, Motorbison Serenade is Lurie's first "solo" recording. The 9 original compositions were written and arranged for two different ensembles, and include the work of violinist/improviser Eyvind Kang (Bill Frisell, John Zorn, Secret Chiefs), guitarist Timothy Young (Very Special Forces,Wayne Horvitz's Zony Mash) and upright bassist Matthew Sperry (Gino Robair, Gionni Gebbia).
