Miles Davis - The Archives (3CD)

As dynamic when on stage as he ever was in the confines of a studio, Miles Davis' live work remains nothing short of extraordinary. This 3 x CD live collection features some of Miles' most acclaimed performances from the 1970s through the 1990s. Disc One includes his show recorded at the Fillmore West in San Francisco on 15th October 1970 when playing as part of the classic quartet with Keith Jarett, Michael Henderson and Jack DeJohnette. Disc Two continues with a show recorded at The Shinjuku Koseinenkin Kaikan, Tokyo, on 19th June 1973, with a band including Miles on trumpet, Dave Liebman on sax and flute, Pete Cosey and Reggie Lucas on electric guitars, Michael Henderson on bass and Al Foster on drums. Disc Three concludes the set with Miles' classic performance at the Chicago Jazz Festival in 1990, when he performed with Kenny Garrett on alto saxophone and flute, Kei Agaki on synths, Richard Patterson on bass, Ricky Wellman on drums, Erin Davis (Miles' youngest son) on electronic percussion, and John Foley McCreary, Jr. on lead bass.
