Eagles - Kings of Hollywood CD

$14.99

In the wake of the Eagles' final studio album - 1979's The Long Run - the band hit the road for the last time for 14 years. Although the record was criticized in some quarters for failing to live up to the huge promise of its predecessor, Hotel California, Long Run was an enormous commercial success, selling seven million copies and boasting three hit singles. Despite this, it was while promoting the album that the group all but called it a day, following an onstage altercation between Don Henley and Don Felder on 30th July 1980. Four months before this final show, the Eagles played at The Forum in Inglewood, CA, a gig that was the subject of a live FM radio broadcast. This CD features the Inglewood show in its entirety, as performed and transmitted nationwide on 4th March 1980. Featuring a fine selection of cuts from the Eagles' entire back catalog, including a good number from the recent record, this show captures a group perhaps ready to call it a day, but equally still wholly capable of putting on a dynamic and enthralling live performance.
