The gorgeous and gargantuan Greensky Bluegrass glided into Raleigh on Jan. 25 to gush their aural aroma over a rapturous sold out capacity crowd at the Ritz. Opening with fan favorites "Windshield" and "Living Over", the gauntlet was thus thrown and the room supercharged with energy. The expansive and dynamic first set included Jimi Hendrix' "Foxy Lady," revealing their rock and roll roots, tucked inside of "Worried About the Weather." The second set opened with "Fixin' to Ruin" and "No Idea" and included spirited covers of Charlie Poole's "Don't Let Your Deal Go Down Blues" and Bob Dylan's "When I Paint My Masterpiece." Opening act Cris Jacobs then appeared on stage with his electric guitar to join the acoustic quintet in closing out the set with "Wings for Wheels" and a barnstorming breakneck blitz through Phish's "Chalk Dust Torture."
