Yonder Mountain String Band & The Travelin' McCourys 1/30/20 Carrboro, NC

Yonder Mountain and the Travelin' McCourys met up for a massive display of bluegrass mastery and musical camaraderie.

The deft and nimble pickers of Yonder Mountain String Band rolled into Carrboro's Cat's Cradle to warm up a cold winter evening with their good buddies The Travelin' McCourys in tow. The second of eight nights together was full of unexpected covers and fiery originals from both bands. There's something primal about huddling together in the winter to stay warm, and the communal heat of a barn burner of a show is the best case scenario.

Covers of David Byrne, Smokey Robinson, John Lennon, Van Morrison and more joined their lush originals to keep dancers delighted and feet in a flurry. Opening up was the silky '70s soul and funk sound of Neal Francis, whose addictive melodies and exceptional musicianship instantly earned him legions of new fans.

The Woodlands Festival

The inaugural Woodlands Festival was a fantastic weekend that many of us already are looking forward to next year.

Located one half hour outside Charleston, SC.  the grounds are large and fully delivered on the promise of being a beautiful outdoor space for attendees to appreciate not just amazing music but also nature's beauty.  In addition to providing a gorgeous setting for us to enjoy, The Woodlands hired food vendors that kept everyone's belly's full and happy with frequent comments in the air about the pizza cones and grilled cheese.  The music didn't disappoint either.

Hulaween 2019

Raising the bar of what a music festival can be.

Hulaween has once again been nothing short of amazing from the start to the end. This festival grounds of Suwannee are some of the best we've experienced. The venue has more infrastructure than any we've been to including a store, restaurant, beach, permanent indoor and outdoor stages, bath houses and hundreds of campsites with power & water!
