Tauk - Homunculus

Homonculus is composed of 10 instrumentals that work together well to make a full, balanced composition. Many instrumental albums, some with intent and others without chance, often drag and feel like one long ensemble. Sometimes it works well as evidenced by Lotus’s Monks and other times it grows tiresome like Kbit’s Un Boombox Symphonique. On this album, Tauk manages to stay away from the typical shattering of any stereotypical genre categorization.

Big Something and moe. - Lincoln Theatre Feb 4th 2014
Local favorites, BIG Something opened the show supporting Moe. on Tuesday, February 4th, to a full house at the Lincoln Theater in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.

BIG Something played old favorites and new material from their latest release the self-titled CD "BIG Something".  The band substituted the lyrics during their performance of a fan favorite, Amanda Lynn, with a nod towards moe. and their fans with the phrase "Who's got my Rebubula, cause I can't find mine!"

Jam Cruise: The world’s best floating music festival

Every year, over 3,000 music lovers of all ages pack up their shorts, swimsuits and creative costumes and head south to take a break from winter.

They converge at a south Florida cruise ship terminal, where all the stage shows and cheesy lounge singers have been kicked off the ship, replaced by some of the country’s best groups from the jam band/festival scene. It’s Jam Cruise, and the 12th floating music festival took place January 4th the first cruise on MSC’s new ship, Divina, after four years on the Poesia. It was also the first departure from the Port of Miami, which is a much nicer facility than the Port Everglades terminal. And my hat’s off to the folks at Cloud 9 Adventures and all their supporting cast.
