Featured Artist: The Mantras

White Denim - Corsicana Lemonade

The perks of chasing your dreams are few and far in between. It’s easy to give up, give out and step on the grey track. It’s even easier to give in, do nothing, wallow in self pity and chime in with that cigarette break chatter. Unlike most, White Denim has pressed on while standing their ground. Although they’re not making millions and are lacking in media coverage, they’re “getting paid to play the music that they love” (Josh, drums).

Marvelous Funkshun

Formed in 2012, Marvelous Funkshun is a psychedelic fusion of funk, blues, jazz and jam rock styles. They have shared the stage with such artists as Tim Reynolds, Kofi Burbridge, Bob Margolin, Tinsley Ellis and The Roots. Characterized by extended improvisation, blues/jazz-flavored guitar and a funky rhythm section, Marvelous Funkshun will keep you dancing all night!

Grateful Dead - Sunshine Daydream - Veneta, Oregon, August 27, 1972

Grateful Dead – Sunshine Daydream
Not to be a bandwagon reviewer, but I’d be hard pressed to point someone to a better set or album of live Grateful Dead than this release.
