Allman Brothers - Live at JazzFest 2010The Allman Brothers Band - Live at JazzFest 2010 (2 CDs) - The New Orleans show was played in front of a massive throng of 50,000+ appreciative fans, and the band finished their Spring Tour strong with a show full of memorable jams and top-notch musicianship. Keith Spera of The New Orleans Times-Picayune may have put it best in his review of the show.....

"Under a glorious blue sky Sunday at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, a vast crowd bore witness to one of the great American bands still working at an extremely high level.... I'm not sure what song it was; it doesn't matter...Oteil Burbridge's bass functioned like a bulldozer. The guitars of Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes chiseled away, pulled up, then bit into the rock once again. And Gregg Allman filled in and bound it all together with his deep-soul organ. When they reached a peak, they rode the sonic climax over the top, savored the moment, then let it go and started climbing once again."

Aaron Neville - Live at JazzFest 2010 CdAaron Neville Quintet - Live at JazzFest 2010 CD - Professionally recorded at the 2010 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 1, 2010. With special guest Charles Neville on sax!

JJ Grey & Mofro - Georgia Warhorse CDJJ Grey & Mofro - Georgia Warhorse CD -Georgia Warhorse, named after the resilient Southern lubber grasshopper. "Yellow and black, and tough like an old-school Tonka toy," says JJ. "They seem so at ease with the world. Nothing seems to rile them. They're in no hurry but they have a kind of resilience because they just keep coming back and I've always felt there was a lesson in there for me to learn." Grey could be described in such words; his own career has grown over the course of a decade of winning over fans night after night

JJ returns with eleven new original songs including one co-written with songwriting icons Chuck Prophet and Angelo Petraglia (Kings of Leon). Also joining JJ for a track on this album is Grey's long-time musical hero and reggae icon Toots Hibbert, who sings with Grey on the The Sweetest Thing. "Toots is the greatest soul singer I've ever heard and one of my biggest influences," says Grey. Georgia Warhorse also provided the opportunity for Grey to work with another friend and hero, fellow Jacksonvillian Derek Trucks. In true neighborly fashion, Trucks stopped by JJ's house to record slide guitar for the song Lullaby. "Derek Trucks is the greatest guitarist I've ever seen and I'm honored to have Derek and Toots on my record," says Grey.

With the release of Georgia Warhorse and a relentless world tour to follow, Grey is set for a breakout year.

Scott Rednor - Music For People CDScott Rednor - Music For People CD -Music For People is Scott Rednor's first solo effort since going on hiatus with the 90's roots rock band Dear Liza.

On "Music for People" Scott Rednor And His Band are building a bridge between 70's style California rock , bluegrass, blues-folk-Americana, and the contemporary singer-songwriter vibe of artists like Pat Monahan, Greg Laswell and Matt Nathanson. Having begun his career playing small Colorado bars and music venues in the band Dear Liza with his infectious, percussive, fingerpicking guitar style, the charismatic Scott Rednor has evolved into the front man for the dynamic, eclectic ensemble that bears his name. In addition to Scott, the band is comprised of John Ginty (Citizen Cope/Robert Randolph), Glen McClelland (Ween), Chuck Treece (Bad Brains), Jim Stager (Huffamoose), Marc Muller (Shania Twain), Greg Glasson (Seal, Dear Liza), Danny DeGennaro (Kingfish), Tom Spiker, Cory Hubbert and Matt Scarano.

The sound that emerges is akin to a cross between Stephen Stills, Bob Weir and The Band in a modern time. While the arrangements and intriguing instrumentation bring about this alchemic transformation in the music, it is all anchored firmly on Rednor's meaningful lyrical content and an unmistakable voice that carries it to the audience. Rest assured, the audience responds.

!!! - Strange Weather Isn't It? CD!!! - Strange Weather Isn't It? CD - Following in the footsteps of artists like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Depeche Mode, who have flocked to Berlin in order to mainline the city's legendary dark energy, !!! traveled to the German capital to produce a record that is simultaneously brooding and somehow their popiest, most immediate record yet. On the one hand, Strange Weather, Isn't It? is !!!'s most texturally rich record to date and is filled with deep, galvanizing grooves in the tradition of 2003's "Me and Giuliani Down By the Schoolyard (A True Story)" and their mega anthem "Heart of Hearts." On the other, there's a dark undercurrent running through the record that acts as a counterpoint to the glittering surfaces. In other words, although only 25% of the record was recorded in Berlin (the other 75% split between New York and Sacramento, California), Strange Weather, Isn't It? is the perfect Berlin album.

King for a Day - Fortress CDKing for a Day - Fortress CD - King For A Day, a Connecticut based original blues/rock band, has just released their first full length CD, entitled "Fortress". Fortress is a brand new 13 song disc that features powerhouse lead vocalist and songwriter Dan Labich, a mainstay in the CT music scene. Bassist Benj LeFevre from Deep Banana Blackout, guitarist Randy Funke from The Grapes of Vaudevillian Fantasy, as well as veteran freelance drummer Scott Lebish round out the quartet. This new CD is a mix of hard drivin' rock, soulful and heartfelt ballads, as well as mid tempo new classic rock style songs. The power and richness of Danny's vocals are equally matched by Randy Funke's raging guitar, layering a tapestry of sonic greatness that is both inventive and familiar at the same time. Benj and Scott hold down the bottom with solid authority, never letting the listener forget that the low end is where it's at! "Fortress" is a great collection of fresh original rock music, be sure to turn it up!

Big Daddy Love - To the Mountain CDBig Daddy Love - To the Mountain CD - To The Mountain is an album in the truest sense--a carefully crafted journey of songs--that has received emphatic and heartfelt reviews from reviewers throughout the region and far beyond. "...The thing is, this all works together well, and it flows as album -- remember those, where all the songs work together to the betterment of the total experience -- not just some isolated downloaded track on your playlist. This is a great disc...Give Big Daddy Love the chance and I'll bet they'll win you over." (Gary Hill, Music Street Journal). From across the pond, a reviewer in Belgium wrote "...[if you are] a fan of The Allman Brothers Band or Drive-By Truckers, but you are open to bluegrass elements, then this CD really is a must." Back home in the mountains, another writer said "From start to finish, To The Mountain is a captivating album that alludes to a dynamic live show. If the musicians dabble in a variety of styles it's only because, well, they can. And certain elements -- a tightly-coiled energy always threatening to explode within each song, a choice group of collaborators, flawless musicianship and Smith's compelling vocals -- provide a palpable thread throughout." (Alli Marshall, Mountain Xpress). Picked up as a favorite spin by Americana and AAA radio stations throughout the region, including taste-maker WNCW in Spindale, NC, To The Mountain is a snapshot of a young band realizing the power of their vision, stretching the boundaries of their influences while celebrating their Appalachian roots.

Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank - Travelling Show CD/DVD Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank - Travelling Show CD/DVDHobo Nephews of Uncle Frank - Travelling Show CD/DVD- Brothers Teague and Ian Alexy's first two albums placed them firmly among the pioneers of the impressive roots music resurgence going on in Minnesota. Both well-respected singer/songwriters, Teague is practically a one man band stomping his feet, banging out rhythm guitar and blowing soulful blues on the harmonica around his neck while Ian is a foot stomping guitar ace on both melodic acoustic and rowdy, rock n' roll electric. On their new album Traveling Show, Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank (the Alexy brothers alias) have guests as far ranging as the mandolin, banjo and fiddle of frequent collaborators Trampled By Turtles, to the pristine pedal steel of John Graboff (Ryan Adams and The Cardinals), to the organ wizardry of Marco Benevento who plays on three tracks. Traveling Show includes a DVD of the 60-minute film Moments and Truths documenting the making of the album in Brooklyn, NY as well as sights and sounds from their tours across the country. Directed by Joshua Priestley, the film is an up close and personal look at a creative and talented band paving their own way through the independent music world.

Jerry Garcia & Howard Wales - Hooteroll? CDJerry Garcia & Howard Wales - Hooteroll? CD - Keyboardist Howard Wales and guitarist Jerry Garcia teamed up often in the early 1970's, holding jam sessions at nearby clubs and recording this largely ignored studio album. The music on Hooteroll? is a natural extension of the sublime jazz-fusion that had begun to change jazz music. This is psychedelic, interstellar rock with healthy doses of funk, jazz, and 70's style soul. Features John Kahn on bass, Bill Vitt on drums, and Martin Fierro on sax/flute. A classic California lineup and an album that you won't believe you missed!

* A classic, this record is Jerry Garcia's first non-Grateful Dead work!
* Special digipak reissue never available before in America features stunning art by Mati Klarwein.
* Hooteroll? shows early-era Dead influence, yet incorporates the years of experience accrued by Garcia. Some very unique music is created in this session, and lets the listener see how Garcia could branch out to do something different--more experimental, more off-the-cuff, and more spontaneous.
* Using a seven-piece band and implementing organs, sax, trumpet, guitars, bass, and drums, kaleidoscopic musical waves and journeys combine to make a very diverse and jam-filled record.

Dickey Betts & Great Southern - 30 Years of Southern Rock (2 CDs)Dickey Betts & Great Southern - 30 Years of Southern Rock (2 CDs) - First time on CD for these live recordings from 1978 and 2008. Dickey Betts and Great Southern were the third highlight at the Rockpalast Festival on March 4th/5th, 1978. On those evenings they played for the first time in Europe in front of an enthusiastic audience at the Gruga-Halle in Essen/Germany and millions of viewers on television. Dickey Betts is not an unknown to those who are familiar with American Rock music. He was one of the original members of the Allman Brothers Band and formed his own band Great Southern in 1976. Nowadays, Dickey Betts and Great Southern are considered to be one of the most important and influential Southern Rock bands of all time. 2009.

Jackie Greene - Till the Light Comes CDJackie Greene - Till the Light Comes CD - Back from his most extensive tour to date, hitting up all the festivals, Jackie Greene delivers another gem proving his title 'Prince of Americana' more relevant than ever.
