In the spring of 2008 the Blind Boys of Alabama headed to New Orleansto play a sold-out show at the iconic Crescent City club Tipitina's. The city,of course, was the focus of the band's latest CD, Downin New Orleans, and on that very special night the Blind Boys invitedsome of their favorite musicians to play with them: Dr. John, Susan Tedeschi,Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Henry Butler, and Marva Wright.

The set list contained new and old favorites - selections from Downin New Orleans like "Free at Last" and "Down by theRiverside," as well as songs from the Blind Boys' four Grammy Award-winningalbums, including the timeless "Amazing Grace" and "People GetReady."  The packed crowd went wild, and an unforgettable and historicshow was preserved for posterity in this one-of-a-kind DVD.

This disc presents the full concert performance of 16 songs along with memorablebonus material: the full-length TV show TheMaking of Down in New Orleans, which first aired on BET and the"Free at Last" music video, also filmed in New Orleans.
