Duane Allman - The Archives (3CD)

$19.99

Close to 50 years since his tragic and premature death at age just 24, following a motorcycle crash in 1972, Duane Allman remains among the most respected and revered guitarists of the rock age. With his name still regularly listed alongside other fretboard greats, such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, interest in and hero-worship of Duane Allman is as high today as it has ever been. This 3 CD Box Set pays tribute to the man often nicknamed Skydog, by way of live and studio recordings, now bought together for the first time in one collection. DISC ONE - A superb live recording of Duane alongside The Allman Brothers Band at a 1971 show recorded at the A&R Studios in New York on 26th August that year. DISC TWO - Featuring both Duane and brother Gregg, performing with friends such as Delaney & Bonnie and King Curtis, also recorded at NYC's A&R Studios, on 22nd July 1971. DISC THREE - Includes Duane's most cherished songs, those that he was most influenced by and which were the impulse for him to begin his career and to become one of the finest guitar players the world had ever seen.
