Blueground Undergrass, Jimmy Hall, Randall Bramblett, Tommy Talton, Last Waltz Ensemble at Hoopee Jam, grass roots fest in GA!

Atlanta, GA. Music Matters Entertainment, LLC and Miss Thang Productions are proud to present the first annual Hoopee Jam, a three-day grass roots music, camping and arts festival on a 100 acre farm in Norristown, GA, near Swainsboro. Twenty seven bands will be performing throughout the weekend. Jimmy Hall (co-founder and lead singer/saxophonist/harpist for Wet Willie), Tommy Talton (co-founder, guitarist, vocalist, songwriter for Capricorn Records group Cowboy, and guitarist on the 1974 Gregg Allman Tour and Gregg Allman’s “Laid Back” album) and his band, the Tommy Talton Band, and Randall Bramblett (keyboardist, saxophonist, vocalist and songwriter for Sea Level, and the Randall Bramblett Band) will headline the event on Saturday evening. Both Hall and Talton performed as special guests with The Allman Brothers Band in March 2009 at the Beacon Theatre in New York City in celebration of The Allman Brothers’ 40th anniversary. The Yonrico Scott Band (the Derek Trucks Band rhythm section) and Tommy Crain & the Crosstown Allstars (featuring Tommy Crain, long-time guitarist and songwriter for the Charlie Daniels Band, and Jack Hall, co-founder/bassist for Wet Willie) will headline Friday evening, and Blueground Undergrass headlines Sunday afternoon. Many other national and regional acts are scheduled to perform throughout the weekend, including Diane Durrett Band, Deep Blue Sun, The Last Waltz Ensemble, Mama’s Love, Joe Pitts Band, Highly Kind, Bonobos Convergence, Phantom Wingo, Turtle Folk, Soulhound, the Fly Brothers, Lingo, Chroma and many others.

Gates open at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 15. Weekend passes are available for $55 and include primitive camping (no power or water) until May 9, 2009; on and after May 9, 2009 and at the gate, weekend passes will be $70 (including primitive camping). Camping available at no additional charge Friday and Saturday nights. No camping on Sunday night.
