Various Artists - This Warm December: A Brushfire Holiday Vol. 1 - About 5 years ago, Jack Johnson made a holiday record for all his family and friends. It was just a couple of tracks, but they sure got everyone in the spirit. On it was his version of "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" that he did on his old 4-track machine. This album became a staple during the holiday season, but after several years it felt like time to get a new batch of songs out for friends and families to enjoy. So in the middle of a hot summer, each Brushfire artist hit the studio or their 4-tracks and channeled the holiday spirit. This Warm December features ALO, Jack Johnson, Money Mark, G. Love, Mason Jennings, Zach Gill, Rogue Wave and more. 25% of profits from sales of this record help spread musical education to kids. $16.99

The 27s: The Greatest Myth of Rock & Roll (paperback) - When Delta bluesman Robert Johnson died in 1938, he started a mysterious pattern of premature deaths among rock & roll musicians at age 27. The 27s: The Greatest Myth of Rock & Roll tells the fascinating and complete story about music's most eclectic phenomenon. In addition to stories & anecdotes about the lives and legacies of thirty-four 27s, the book delves into numerical and astrological meanings behind the number 27. Adding tension to a gripping narrative, The 27s is beautifully illustrated throughout and the art creates visual tangents intended to draw the reader further in to The 27s universe. Inventive use of maps, timelines, and sidebars aid the reader with a sense of place, additional information, pop cultural placeholders, and more. The 27s include Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Ron "Pigpen" McKernan of the Grateful Dead, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, and Jeremy Michael Ward of The Mars Volta, among others. $26.98

Amos Lee - Live from Austin, TX DVD - Named by Rolling Stone as one of 2005's Top Ten Artists to Watch, Amos Lee has opened for Bob Dylan and toured with Norah Jones. Critics and music buffs alike were so enamored by his quiet, understated but soulful singing style that it seemed he could do no wrong. This performance, recorded on August 10, 2005, captures all the gems from that first album and then some. Possibly nothing sums it up better than the simply beautiful "Arms Of A Woman," which sounds like an instant classic that could have come from the likes of Ray Charles. $16.99

Pink Floyd - The Great Gig In The Sky: The Album-by-Album Guide (8 DVD Box) - This is the definitive review of the music of Pink Floyd, album by album. These eight DVDs feature extensive archive interviews with Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Richard Wright and David Gilmour alongside rare footage of Floyd in performance. Drawing upon the words of the band and a host of Floyd insiders, each album is reviewed, contrasting the views of the band and its critics with rare surviving performances. The candid views of a team of leading critics, experts and film academics complete this eminent work. Also included is a 196 page book, "Pink Floyd And The Critics," a study of the evolution of Pink Floyd in the words of the band against the contemporary critical reaction to the albums on release. $69.99

Various Artists - Roots of The Grateful Dead CD - This UK-born collection contains 22 classic recordings that inspired the members of The Grateful Dead and kick-started their musical journey. When a group of jug band musicians from San Francisco plugged into the mains, the Psychedelic era began. Exemplary musicianship and extended acid-fueled jams created the legend that became the Grateful Dead. Their amazingly extensive repertoire showed that they never forgot their Folk-Blues roots and this collection features 22 of the tracks that inspired some of their most enduring performances. Includes cuts from Tampa Red, Bill Monroe, Slim Harpo, Elvis Presley, The Memphis Jug Band and many others. $12.99

Various Artists - Roots of Jimi Hendrix CD - 22 blistering tracks from the artists who influenced Jimi Hendrix! When Hendrix burst onto the scene in 1966, he achieved iconic status almost overnight. In four years, he changed the course of rock music forever. Hendrix' enormous talent was fostered for years by playing back-up for some of the major R&B acts of the day, and he absorbed influences from early delta blues to rock of the fifties. This collection features key tracks from some of the artists who inspired this rock icon. $12.99

Various Artists - Roots of The Allman Brothers CD - This 2008 compilation is full of classics that inspired the true architects of Southern Rock: The Allman Brothers. After the British Blues boom had drifted off into the realms of Psychedelia, a group of home-grown American musicians merged Blues, Country and Jazz into their own style of southern rock. This collection brings together the many influences that made The Allman Brothers the toughest blues outfit of their generation, with 24 tracks including cuts from Howlin' Wolf, Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Willie McTell, B.B. King and many others. $12.99

Quicksilver Messemnger Service - Live at Fillmore Auditorium 1968 - This 2008 archive release is a live performance by one of the most important bands to come from the San Francisco music scene of the '60s, along with their contemporaries The Grateful Dead and The Jefferson Airplane. The band became one of the most popular draws in the Bay area and built a solid reputation as a strong live act built around a mixture of good material and what would essentially become their calling card - long extended jamming pieces. The original line up was guitarists John Cippolina and Gary Duncan alongside drummer Greg Elmore, bassist David Frieberg and vocalist Jim Murray. $24.98

Quicksilver Messenger Service - Live at the Avalon Ballroom Parts 1 and 2 - More archive releases, this time featuring two 1966 shows at the Avalon Ballroom! $18.98 each

Hallucinogen - Various Albums - Hallucinogen is the stage name of Simon Posford, an electronic musician specializing in Goa trance music from England. His first album, Twisted, was one of the most widely influential electronic music recordings of its time and helped to define the psychedelic trance genre. The follow-up album, The Lone Deranger, only cemented his influence. From then on, Posford ventured into numerous collaborations with other artists. His most notable projects involve artists such as Raja Ram (Shpongle), Martin Glover (Celtic Cross), Marc Brownstein from The Disco Biscuits (Younger Brother), and Prometheus a.k.a. Benji Vaughan (Younger Brother). Though pooling his talent from a host of worldly influences, many of his fans will attest that he has the "Posford Touch", a certain unmistakable quality to the sound of his music, that is revered by psychedelic and electronic enthusiasts from around the world. He is renowned for his meticulous production skills and the multilayered depth his music has. 2008 sees these Hallucinogen titles in re-release: Twisted, The Lone Deranger, and Hallucinogen in Dub. $15.98 each

Younger Brother - Various Albums - Younger Brother was formed in 2003 by Simon Posford and Benji Vaughan. Their particular genre of music is difficult to accurately classify as it suggests many different forms of electronic music without subscribing to a specific style. In 2008, Posford and Benji took "Younger Brother" to Colorado and California on the Twisted Conspiracy Tour. Playing with them were Marc Brownstein (The Disco Biscuits, Electron) on bass, Tom Hamilton (Brothers Past, The American Babies, Electron) on guitar, and Joe Russo (The Benevento/Russo Duo, Bustle In Your Hedgerow, The American Babies, Electron) on drums. Younger Brother's first two albums have just been re-released: A Flock of Bleeps and Last Days of Gravity. $15.98 each

Peter Tosh - Legalize It LP - After spending 12 years as a member of Bob Marley's Wailers, Peter Tosh was eager to break free from the shadow of the legendary frontman. In 1976, he released Legalize It, still one of the most significant albums in the history of reggae. Tosh's life ended too early, and Legalize It is the strongest testament to his legacy. Take a listen to this newly issued vinyl version and share the spirit of his genius. $16.99
