The Allman Brothers Band - Live at JazzFest 2010 (2 CDs) - The New Orleans show was played in front of a massive throng of 50,000+ appreciative fans, and the band finished their Spring Tour strong with a show full of memorable jams and top-notch musicianship. Keith Spera of The New Orleans Times-Picayune may have put it best in his review of the show.....
"Under a glorious blue sky Sunday at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, a vast crowd bore witness to one of the great American bands still working at an extremely high level....
I'm not sure what song it was; it doesn't matter...Oteil Burbridge's bass functioned like a bulldozer. The guitars of Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes chiseled away, pulled up, then bit into the rock once again. And Gregg Allman filled in and bound it all together with his deep-soul organ. When they reached a peak, they rode the sonic climax over the top, savored the moment, then let it go and started climbing once again."
Aaron Neville Quintet - Live at JazzFest 2010 CD - Professionally recorded at the 2010 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 1, 2010. With special guest Charles Neville on sax!

Quactus - A Sense of We CD - Mixing rock, funk, reggae, metal, dance and psychedelia, "A Sense of We" will transport you to a world where technical virtuosity and danceable grooves collide, proving that once you go quack, you never go back! Features special guests Steve Molitz (Particle; Phil and Friends) and Mike Mangan (Big Organ Trio).
JJ Grey & Mofro - Georgia Warhorse CD -Georgia Warhorse, named after the resilient Southern lubber grasshopper. "Yellow and black, and tough like an old-school Tonka toy," says JJ. "They seem so at ease with the world. Nothing seems to rile them. They're in no hurry but they have a kind of resilience because they just keep coming back and I've always felt there was a lesson in there for me to learn." Grey could be described in such words; his own career has grown over the course of a decade of winning over fans night after night
JJ returns with eleven new original songs including one co-written with songwriting icons Chuck Prophet and Angelo Petraglia (Kings of Leon). Also joining JJ for a track on this album is Grey's long-time musical hero and reggae icon Toots Hibbert, who sings with Grey on the The Sweetest Thing. "Toots is the greatest soul singer I've ever heard and one of my biggest influences," says Grey. Georgia Warhorse also provided the opportunity for Grey to work with another friend and hero, fellow Jacksonvillian Derek Trucks. In true neighborly fashion, Trucks stopped by JJ's house to record slide guitar for the song Lullaby. "Derek Trucks is the greatest guitarist I've ever seen and I'm honored to have Derek and Toots on my record," says Grey.
With the release of Georgia Warhorse and a relentless world tour to follow, Grey is set for a breakout year.
Scott Rednor - Music For People CD -Music For People is Scott Rednor's first solo effort since going on hiatus with the 90's roots rock band Dear Liza.
On "Music for People" Scott Rednor And His Band are building a bridge between 70's style California rock , bluegrass, blues-folk-Americana, and the contemporary singer-songwriter vibe of artists like Pat Monahan, Greg Laswell and Matt Nathanson. Having begun his career playing small Colorado bars and music venues in the band Dear Liza with his infectious, percussive, fingerpicking guitar style, the charismatic Scott Rednor has evolved into the front man for the dynamic, eclectic ensemble that bears his name. In addition to Scott, the band is comprised of John Ginty (Citizen Cope/Robert Randolph), Glen McClelland (Ween), Chuck Treece (Bad Brains), Jim Stager (Huffamoose), Marc Muller (Shania Twain), Greg Glasson (Seal, Dear Liza), Danny DeGennaro (Kingfish), Tom Spiker, Cory Hubbert and Matt Scarano.
The sound that emerges is akin to a cross between Stephen Stills, Bob Weir and The Band in a modern time. While the arrangements and intriguing instrumentation bring about this alchemic transformation in the music, it is all anchored firmly on Rednor's meaningful lyrical content and an unmistakable voice that carries it to the audience. Rest assured, the audience responds.
!!! - Strange Weather Isn't It? CD - Following in the footsteps of artists like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Depeche Mode, who have flocked to Berlin in order to mainline the city's legendary dark energy, !!! traveled to the German capital to produce a record that is simultaneously brooding and somehow their popiest, most immediate record yet. On the one hand, Strange Weather, Isn't It? is !!!'s most texturally rich record to date and is filled with deep, galvanizing grooves in the tradition of 2003's "Me and Giuliani Down By the Schoolyard (A True Story)" and their mega anthem "Heart of Hearts." On the other, there's a dark undercurrent running through the record that acts as a counterpoint to the glittering surfaces. In other words, although only 25% of the record was recorded in Berlin (the other 75% split between New York and Sacramento, California), Strange Weather, Isn't It? is the perfect Berlin album.
