Old Crow Medicine ShowOld Crow Medicne Show - Carry Me Back CD - Carry Me Back is the band's fourth studio album and features 12 brand new tracks that sonically span the band's career while still pushing them forward in new directions as musicians and songwriters. The album was recorded at the legendary Sound Emporium studios in Nashville (O Brother, Where Art Thou?; REM's Document; Robert Plant and Alison Krauss's Raising Sand).

Carry Me Back was produced by Ted Hutt (Gaslight Anthem, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly). Hutt pushed the band in a whole new way that they hadn't been pushed before. "Ted Hutt asked us to really dig deep as artists, as songwriters, to get to the heart of the matter of these songs and, especially, not to settle for anything less than their greatness," recalls Ketch Secor of the band. Secor is also very proud of the result of the band's songwriting efforts on the album, saying "For me, Carry Me Back is all about the songs, how they line up, intertwine, switch partners, and promenade home. Each of these songs was an accident waiting to happen."

Keller Williams - Pick CDKeller Williams with the Travelin' McCourys - Pick CD - For the brand new recording Pick, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Keller Williams teams up with Nashville's beloved bluegrass family The Travelin' McCourys. As revered and successful as each act is in their own right, Pick is a classic case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Recorded at Music City's famed Butcher Shoppe studios, the album's 12 songs - a mix of originals and covers - put a unique twist on Americana music's long storytelling tradition, and the impeccable musicianship displayed on Pick captures all the heart and heartache of the bluegrass genre. But the songs don't stop there. Williams' unconventional songwriting takes on unsuspecting weight when backed by The Travelin' McCourys' emotive tones. Inspired by Keller's fearless creativity, the McCourys' flawless playing gets depth. Keller Williams with The Travelin' McCourys: It's a perfect, albeit unexpected fit.

Jerry Douglas - TravelerJerry Douglass - Traveler CD - The phrase living legend may be overused, but in the case of the master Dobro guitarist Jerry Douglas, it s also an understatement. In addition to his first-call status as a Nashville recording icon, hes adored by rock musicians like Paul Simon, Elvis Costello, James Taylor, and John Fogerty, all of whom have featured him on tours. Jerry is a 13-time GrammyA(c) winner and the long-time featured soloist with the multi-platinum Alison Krauss and Union Station. And he was an NEA Heritage Foundation grant winner in 2004.

With Traveler, Jerry has finally recorded an album that will even further elevate his already impressive stature from super-sideman to a bona fide front-rank creator of musical Americana. Produced by Russ Titelman (Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Ry Cooder, Little Feat, etc.), and recorded in New Orleans, Nashville, and London, this ambitious collection of vocals and instrumentals enlists a truly awesome cast of characters in support of an epic vision that combines Country/Bluegrass, R&B, and even a ballad with roots in the British Isles (Paul Simons The Boxer performed with Mumford & Sons and the song s composer.) Other highlights include two New Orleans classics--- Something You Got, with vocals and guitar by Eric Clapton; and High Blood Pressure, with vocals by Keb Mo and a gang of the Crescent City s finest including Dr. John.

Floydfest X The Experience, July 28th - 31st 2011

For 10 years Floydfest has given people an immersed diversity of culture, art and music that has broadened the minds and souls of all who have attended.

Nestled peacefully on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Floyd, VA this festival has endured the test of time and has brought glorified happiness to thousands.

FloydFest 9 - Breaking Ground

A perfect conglomeration of music, art, food, people and one of the most breathtaking venues in the country.

There is something to be said about how festivals are created, maintained and the overall feeling one gets when it's all said and done.  Some festivals seem to get a little overcrowded creating a sea of trash that is blatantly disregarded, some are in vast open fields with absolutely no shade causing utter frustration among attendees and then there are the rare ones that bring everything together so perfectly.  Floydfest is just that, a perfect conglomeration of music, art, food, people and one of the

Perpetual Groove - Heal CDPerpetual Groove - Heal CD - The album is the first to feature new keyboardist John Hruby. Features a limited edition cover, featuring the album artwork in 3-D lenticular form. This edition is limited to the first pressing and will not be made available on subsequent re-pressings of the album, so don't hesitate to place your order.

Heal was recorded at Chase Park Transduction studios in Athens, GA. The album was produced and engineered by David Barbe (Drive by Truckers, Cracker) who also produced Brock Butler's latest solo effort, "Lately Here Though." The album features mostly newer material, including the instrumental track "Honey Cut" and the Hruby-led "40 Roses," the first Perpetual Groove album track to feature someone other then lead singer Brock Butler on lead vocals. Each successive studio album is always a journey for the musicians and the end product usually reflects this, "Heal" is no different. You won't find any swelling synthesizers or loops on the compositions contained within, in their place, a focus on songwriting, themes, and an overall "timeless" quality to the sonic landscape of Perpetual Groove. Read our review here.

Danny Barnes - Pizza Box CdDanny Barnes - Pizza Box CD -The lead single, 'Overdue', features familiar background vocals by fan and friend, Dave Matthews, who is a champion of the project and releasing the John Alagia produced album on his label, ATO Records. Known early on for his work with the seminal Austin alternative country band, the Bad Livers, Barnes has developed a profile for himself as one of the most progressive and genre-bending artists of his craft. With Pizza Box, Barnes spins tales of American life like a latter-day John Steinbeck, wielding banjo and pen with equal effect, and the character of his voice as the perfect mouthpiece to truly bring these songs and stories to life. He tells tales with the wry wit and humor of Garrison Keillor, the lyrical eccentricities and intellect of Randy Newman, performed with the southern twang and swagger of Levon Helm. Barnes combines and blends all of these elements into a style that is uniquely his own. $11.98

South Memphis String Band - Home Sweet Home CDSouth Memphis String Band - Home Sweet Home CD - When Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars, Black Crowes), Alvin Youngblood Hart and Jimbo Mathus (Squirrel Nut Zippers) got together to make music, it certainly wasn't out of commercial consideration. This troika of roots-imbued musical pros coalesced through a shared vision and consuming passion for the music of their forebears, most notably the Mississippi Sheiks, Memphis Jug Band, Gus Cannon's Jug Stompers and other practitioners of pre-blues era roots sounds.

Home Sweet Home showcases their passion for the old timey tradition that is underscored by the group's name: South Memphis String Band. South Memphis, of course, is that rough and tumble area of the Bluff City extending from downtown to the Mississippi border, and beyond. It's where Stax Records as well as, literally, hundreds of churches thrived. The sacred and profane, holy rolling and dice rolling, were cheek by jowl in old South Memphis and its modern day namesake reflects that ecumenicism quite brilliantly. For Luther, Alvin and Jimbo, South Memphis is more of a musical state of mind than a specific geographical location. $15.98

Old Crow Medicine Show - Greetings from Wawa CD Old Crow Medicine Show - Greetings from Wawa CD - OCMS first full-on attempt at recording, now re-released. Often referred to as the "Wawa Experience" by some folks, this album is 23 tracks of pure Crow energy! $14.98

New Additions:

Blind Boys of Alabama Live DVDThe Blind Boys of Alabama - Live in New Orleans DVD - In the spring of 2008 the Blind Boys of Alabama headed to New Orleans to play a sold-out show at the iconic Crescent City club Tipitina's. The city, of course, was the focus of the band's latest CD, Down in New Orleans, and on that very special night the Blind Boys invited some of their favorite musicians to play with them: Dr. John, Susan Tedeschi, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Henry Butler, and Marva Wright.

The set list contained new and old favorites - selections from Down in New Orleans like "Free at Last" and "Down by the Riverside," as well as songs from the Blind Boys' four Grammy Award-winning albums, including the timeless "Amazing Grace" and "People Get Ready."  The packed crowd went wild, and an unforgettable and historic show was preserved for posterity in this one-of-a-kind DVD.

This disc presents the full concert performance of 16 songs along with memorable bonus material: the full-length TV show The Making of Down in New Orleans, which first aired on BET and the "Free at Last" music video, also filmed in New Orleans. $19.99

Bloodkin - Baby They Told US... CDBloodkin - Baby, They Told Us We Would Rise Again CD - This collection of songs is a stripped down rock & roll record that harkens back to the days where songs were recorded in a single take and relied on the raw energy of 5 guys playing together in a room.

An excerpt from Patterson Hood's (Drive-By Truckers) liner notes: "Bloodkin has been through the fire and persevered and come out the other side better and stronger than I ever thought they'd be. They have landed on the best line up of players they've ever had and seem to have gained a control of their demons that two years ago would have seemed beyond impossible. Instead of packing it in and going home (or dying) they pulled themselves up and made their greatest album in a quarter of a century. Life affirming Rock and Roll in the grandest tradition. This is music to LIVE with and it don't get any better than that." $14.98

JJ Cale - Roll On CdJJ Cale - Roll On CD - Roll On follows Cale's Grammy-winning, gold-certified 2006 album with Eric Clapton, The Road to Escondido. The title track features a previously unreleased collaboration with Clapton. Cale wrote and produced all twelve songs on Roll On. Cale has brought us many classic songs over the years including: After Midnight, Call Me the Breeze, Travelin' Light and Cocaine.$16.98

Quicksilver Messenger Service - Live at the Fillmore CDQuicksilver Messenger Service - Live at the Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco, 1967 CD - This recording while being a single disc contains many highlights including superb versions of You Don't Love Me and A Fool For You.

While not radically different from the set of the 4th of February although shorter the set does include Gold and Silver, Walkin' Blues, I Hear You Knocking and All Night Worker and shows the band were flexible and able to put together a set that highlighted their musical dexterity and also their choice of material although the performances are different. $18.98

Flaming Lips - 20 Years of Weird CD20 Years of Weird: Flaming Lips 1986-2006 CD - It is a predominantly live compilation, recorded throughout the career of the Flaming Lips (between 1986 and 2003), though the first three tracks are recorded in the studio. These are: the introduction by Wayne Coyne, "Free Radicals" from At War with the Mystics and "Enthusiasm for Life Defeats Existential Fear", a previously unavailable track.

Some notable tracks contained on this compilation are "Shine on Sweet Jesus", a track recorded live with a short lived line-up which included Jonathan Donahue (of Mercury Rev), and current Flaming Lips producer Dave Fridmann, also of Mercury Rev. There is also a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" (sung with the lyrics "Whole Lotta Satan"), which is played before "Cant Stop the Spring". The track "Sleeping on the Roof" is a live recording from the Flaming Lips' "Parking Lot Experiments" in 1996, where the band got some of their fans to play pre-recorded tapes (of music by the band) in their car stereos simultaneously. $6.99

John Butler Trio - Live at Twist & Shout CDJohn Butler Trio - Live at Twist & Shout CD - Recorded live at Denver indie record store Twist & Shout, this is rare a must-have collection for fans of John Butler! $11.98

Old Crow Medicine Show - Eutaw CdOld Crow Medicne Show - Eutaw CD - OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW fans rejoice - we now have the 2001 studio recording EUTAW, previously only available through the band's website and at shows!  Eutaw contains the tracks "Raise A Ruckus" and "Down Home Girl," which are fan favorites and are still played regularly live.  $15.98

Trey Anastasio - Original Boardwalk Style - Live CdTrey Anatasio - Orignal Boardwalk Style (Live in Atlantic City) CD - Recorded live December 30-31, 2006, at The House Of Blues, Atlantic City, NJ

Proceeds from "Original Boardwalk Style" benefit the Seven Below Arts Initiative, established to foster artistic development and support arts education in the state of Vermont. The program offers residencies for visual artists at The Barn, a uniquely restored property on 65 acres in Vermont that previously served as the recording studio for Phish, Trey, and many others. The residences are designed to provide artists with a peaceful, inspiring, and supportive living and working environment. While at The Barn, each artists leads an educational activity for local children or adults interested in the visual arts. $16.00

Trey Anastasio - 18 Steps CdTrey Anastasio - 18 Steps CD - 18 Steps began as the accompanying bonus mini-album to Trey Anastasio's Bar 17 release, consisting of the cutting room floor material that never made it onto Bar 17. Originally bundled free to every customer who ordered Bar 17, what began as a simple bonus CD of outtake material soon became regarded by many fans as a complete record in its own right. In response, 18 Steps is now available as its own record, previously available only through Trey's online store via his own Rubber Jungle Records. Featuring studio versions of fan-favorite live material such as "Dark And Down" and "Low," 18 Steps also boasts unique acoustic snippets never before released or played live such as "In Spirals," "Agnes" and "Rose Alone." In hindsight, 18 Steps is more than just extra material from the Bar 17 sessions, it completes the picture that Bar 17 started. In fact, Shine completes the trilogy as much of the material from all three albums was written during the same time period. For a complete view of Trey's mindset and musical career from 2004-2006, all three albums must be taken into consideration. $14.00

Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit CDJason Isbell and the 400 Unit CD - Isbell is a former member of the Drive-By Truckers and this is his second solo release (his first release with his band The 400 Unit). The 400 Unit is Derry deBorja (keyboards), Jimbo Hart (bass) and Browan Lollar (guitar). Matt Pence (Centro-matic/South San Gabriel) lends his talents as co-producer, drummer and engineer.

The album was recorded at the renowned FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL. Isbell, who Details Magazine calls "one of America's best young songwriters," is following in the tradition of American songwriters who have recorded in North Alabama. Much like Arthur Alexander, Eddie Hinton and Spooner Oldham, Isbell mixes a soulful vocal style with songs that are passionate and unrepentant in their sense of place and direct in their stubborn Southerness. $15.98
